The company was formed in 1999 by the two principals, John O’Reilly and Gerard O’Byrne. John O'Reilly BSc (Surv) Dip. Con. Econ. graduated from Trinity College and Dublin Institute of Technology in 1995. Gerard O'Byrne graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology in 1994 with a Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering.

Over the years the Company has expanded rapidly to a Building Contractor now capable of carrying out all aspects of construction work. O’Reilly O’Byrne Construction Ltd. sees building very much as a partnership where both client and contractor share the same objectives ie. to get the job completed on time and within budget, to the highest standards of quality and safety.

In more recent years since 2004, the company began to undertake projects in the petroleum sector and this has grown to now form the main business of the company. With the specialised experience gained in this sector the company is now one of the leading suppliers of construction services to the petroleum industry.
